Ballycastle Golf Club
Ballycastle Golf Club was founded in 1890 and has an honoured position in the history of Irish golf. In 1891, together with delegates from eight other clubs, Ballycastle was one of the founders of the Golfing Union of Ireland.
The Club is situated on the beautiful North Antrim coast of Northern Ireland between the world famous Causeway Coast and the Glens of Antrim. The course offers a full 18 holes and is a unique golfing challenge in that it covers both parkland and links holes.
The first five holes are flanked by the Rivers Margy and Carey with various trees and natural hills as the main landscape with the 12th century Bon-a-Margy abbey ruins providing an historical out of bounds.
From hole six onwards you are presented with some outstanding links golf holes running alongside the beach at Ballycastle Bay and between gorse and sand dunes before rising to the "top holes" with panoramic views including the Mull of Kintyre, Rathlin Island, the famous North Antrim Coastline and the hills of Donegal.
The modern clubhouse was completed in 2003 providing magnificent views over the course and is equipped with bar and restaurant facilities, visitor showers, locker and changing facilities. The club has a fully stocked PGA Professionals shop.
Ballycastle Golf Club is proud to be one of the four courses played each June in the world renowned Tullamore Dew Causeway Coast Tournament.
